Nice night in the forest! A bit expensive for just toilets but a beautiful wake up next to the fall.
Large car park with no marked spaces for campervan although 2 vans are allowed (paid and booked through Auckland Council). Peaceful location in the afternoon although very loud noises coming from nearby Hunua Camp (Friday night, ?screaming) and people running through the car park with torches which was very unnerving throughout the night. Probably wouldn’t stay again personally.
Although only 2 slots for overnight are offered, such a beautiful spot to stay. We have paid $ 16,-. Toilettes are near by and very clean. 5 minute walk to the Hunua Falls, 3 hour hiking tour into the beautiful forest where we also happen to see a parrot. :)
Lovely place - huge grass area, nice walks, peaceful, toilet was fine.
Nice camping spot with access to toilets and clean water. Once we set ourselves up in the Auckland council website it was relatively simple to pay for the night. We were here in our van for one night in September. We were the only people there and were undisturbed throughout the night
Wrong times posted in information here. Arrived 6:50pm gates closed. Sign on gate say open 6am close 7pm non-daylight saving & 6am-9pm daylight saving.
Great place. Quiet, secure, beautifully maintained. Nice toilets. 5C temp overnight. Birds heard= paradise ducks, pukeko, morepork and maybe even kiwi.. Faint about 5am
We were the only ones. Great toilets. A nice district council is there during the day. Ca 3 tracks to run, from 20min to 3h! Nice place, but if the lawn is closed, you can stand on the PP, for big campers but no chance. Very quiet.
Wonderful campsite in breathtaking nature! We were the only ones, the toilets are awesome
