Fantastic campsite. Just 3 spaces but we arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 5pm and there was only one other camper. E flush toilets with lighting and hand dryers. Phone signal, Bins and a water tap. Had a quiet night with no disturbances or dodgy locals. Dog walkers in the morning were all very friendly.
The best free campground so far ! Clean toilets, kids playground, BBQ, beautiful water views, quiet park. Also a free outdoor cold shower available.
Great campsite, very beautiful by the water, peaceful. Clean toilets and there's even a cold shower! Note that there are only 3 spots.
Seems like a great site, 3 spots at the end, no sign of said Crack head, good signal, no light other than a couple on the toilets. Outdoor shower aswell
Very nice place, even though it was under renovation. We were there alone, a crazy woman was screaming for a while, but then it was quiet all night.
A beautiful place by day, but creepy at night. We, two women, didn't dare sleep there after all, so we left that evening. The homeless woman was, as described, unfortunately creepy, screaming exorcism noises in the bathroom. It seemed as if wild boars were roaming the area. After hearing the squealing and the demonic sounds, we left.
Super safe place, I recommend it, unfortunately you can only stay there for 2 days and there are only 3 places.
Would be an fanatic 10/10 spot, but there is (again) a homeless Meth-Junky living in a tend in one corner in the bushes. Absolutely scaring looking, bad smelling and aggressively shouting creature. Council seems to tolerate her since we camped here for several days. Itβs not the first time in Tauranga area we met Meth Junckies or aggressive homeless people on freedom campsites. Big time red flag here in NZ. Did not felt safe here. Bad energy when this person is around and comes out.
Beautiful place. Stayed here for two nights. Clean bathroom and BBQ facilities. Closed at night so no cars were coming in.
What a beautiful location! Quiet, very clean toilets and plenty of birds to wake you up in the morning. I think this is my fav camping spot until now!
