Didn’t read the reviews before going. It is definitely true that we were being watched by residents when setting up. Was barked at by scary dog each way to and from bathroom. Sketchy place but it was fine for the one night.
Nice quite spot nice walking track up side of river Friendly people
Super sketchy spot right beside some ghetto. Im sure the children of the corn are lovely but we decided to move on for the night and not get murdered.
Spooky place. I arrived and a big brown, muscular dog stood, unleashed, and just staring at my truck. Did not wag his tail, nothing! Very intimidating so I didn’t stay.
Avoid this place like the plague. Inside of a small cult looking shanty town, marshland walk to the beach. Locals with dead eyes looking at you as you pull in. Only room for 7 vans max. Grass is also very soft so van could get bogged. I really urge you to avoid this place. Go in if you must for a little look at a freaky place but do not stay here.
Not a lot of phon signal
Travelled here in Winter. This is a known flood zone and locals say the lagoon waters are typically volatile. The ground area was really soft and flooded, many campers recently bogged (and according to locals one van was flooded in overnight). Can imagine this to be a nice spot in dry conditions, but don’t recommend risking it.
Small area between a typical New Zealand huts settlement, a working dairy farm and lagoon backwaters. Very quiet. There is no access to the sea but it is a great spot for trout fishermen. A 5 minute walk will get you to the main lagoon part with plenty of fish and bird life as well as access up the river along a stop bank.
Strange and random place, very quiet. Pretty far from the beach as well.
Très calme. Nous étions le seul campervan. Les toilettes en revanche étaient absolument dégoûtantes… et on a un peu l’impression d’être dans le jardin des gens.
