Lovely spot. there’s a few sites around the Lake and Dam System. This one is closest to the Dam, and you can hear the water rushing 24/7 often. That can be a little unsettling to get used to. It’s a very windy spot, so pick a sheltered area if you can! 90% of the occupants are vacant season/year long campers that sit empty which can be a little odd. The toilets are great. The price is a little expensive for one night but if you’re looking for a long term spot it’s cheaper long term. Views 10/10
I’m going to be posting this same comment about all the sites in this location that we tried to stop at as there isn’t much up to date info. They are full of derelict old campers, camper trailers and even tents. Unsure why or what this is, but we were not willing to stay in a single one of these sites. Gives a very creepy abandoned town feeling. No thanks. Location is awesome though.
Still a stunning place. Stayed last time early autumn now in winter. Very quiet, beautiful views, nice lake Benmore peninsula walk
Rate now is $25 for 2 people per night, not much here for the cost. Still quiet so far.
The cost has gone up per night - very expensive for a parking spot.
Nice spot but grim place to camp, in fact we kept cycling! Loads of derelict permanent campers, no facilities except community toilet block outside of camping area. No drinkable water. Bad vibes!
Beautiful spot but an absolute not good place to camp as a family. Several parties going on throughout the night. Loud music, screeming and shouting and to top it off, a big fight by end of night. Will NEVER go here again!
Nice spot but feel that the fee per van is a bit steep for a toilet and water. I note the website states cheaper. This would be more appropriate
Toilet close
If your planning to stay there for the. Season, camper beware! the youth come down and completely trash the place, it was horrendous l. Wont camp there again.
