Way too expensive for what's on offer. Disappointed. Council have made it too expensive for families
Very basic for a night
No water
Yes, agree with the previous comments. Too pricey for the most minimal of facilities.
After a couple of months camping this was by far the worst value for money campsite we have encountered. $25 for 2p unpowered on a hard rocky dusty patch is unjustifiable. There are no cooking facilities, no shelters, very minimal toilet facilities for a large number of campers, no showers, no potable water. The campsite is unattractive and busy with many long term campers. People making noise late into the night and heavy machinery being operated close by at 6am further detracted from our stay.
Nice enough spot and within walking distance to Otematata. Sadly it is no longer low cost @$25pn for 2 adults. Has a few water taps but not potable you have to boil to drink it. Lack of toilets in the peak season and you have to pay another $5 to launch your boat!!!! We have just visited a Camp $15 for 2 adults with free hot showers, laundry $3, free kitchen facilities!!!Come on WDC revise your charges for local campers!!!!
Beautiful spot with okay facilities, just ruined by large groups partying until the early hours. For this reason I felt the fees were to pricey.
Simple but cheap & effective. Ground a bit scrub like but nice by the lake.
The campground is surrounded by hills and trees, close to the lakes, but the view itself is not very good. For 10$/night/adult it wouldn't be our first choice again. It's probably cheap for families with dependent kids under 15 (20$/night/family) and good for people with boats. The toilets are clean, soap is provided, there's a dumping station and a waste disposal area. Otematata is in walking distance and there's also a nice little walk starting at the campground.
