The area itself is really nice and when we came it was quite empty. The negative points : The gravel road to come here, a bit rough. The toilets are quite disgusting I don't know for how long they haven't been clean and of course no toilet paper. Also no phone connection at all.
I’d suggest not following Google Maps. It took me down a dangerous gravel road, and after about 10 kilometres I ended up at someone’s farm entrance with signs saying “No entry without appointment.” The worst part was turning back the road was steep with tiny loose stones, my wheels kept spinning, and it was honestly pretty scary.
The site is closed, a danger sign indicates that the access ramp is not usable. Otherwise, Gravel road for 20 minutes and no telephone network
The gravel road out is a bit dire and corrugated in parts. Not good for larger vehicles. Once I arrived - I stepped into bliss. It was so quiet and serene. The trek to the beach was good and the stars shone bright at night. I stayed two quiet nights. Had just one other van with me both nights. It's a big enough site for ample privacy.
Absolutely amazing place! So quiet and next to the river, the walk to the Beach is lovely and only like 2 km and the views are awesome. Just be aware there is no cell service and no drinking water and to get there you go by gravel road for like 15 km.
Lovely little spot, beautiful countryside road to get there. Room for about 10 camper plots, was told half of the space was private land (unsure if true). Pretty sheltered area, beautiful view of the water and hillside. Toilet facilities very basic, no toilet paper so glad we came prepared. No running water either, but could have been temporary. Saw some eels being caught, suspect it’s a good spot for fishing when the tide’s in.
Closed when we checked
Loved our night here, tranquil spot by the river at the end of the road. Quiet and dark with stary skies. Walked out to the coast with nice views back over the river and surrounding country side. Road in was no problem and had just been graded.
Very nice place quite. Next to the river . Walk to the beach . 20mins . Or boat . Can get full on the weekend . Not suitable for large vehicles . Your choice. Road is gravel . Good for a few days or longer stop over . Water is drinkable. Toilet . Good . Clean and tidy . Grounds . ?
What a beatific spot. We arrived late afternoon in our camper van and already there were 2 Motorhomes and 2 smaller vehicles. With plenty of room to spare. Swimming in the river is amazing and kayaking just a few minutes to the beach is the best. If you love to fish this is the place to go. Clean toilets and don’t forget to pop a few dollars into the Iron maiden. No rubbish in site ... Lovely clean spot
