Campsite and toilet is nice and quiet. At the bottom of the valley with no phone reception. What concerns me is the last 15mins of drive to the campsite are with many parts of severely eroded slopes and walls. Rocks and trees all over the ground. I don’t feel safe driving even on sunny day

Most scenic camp spot so far . Epic hills journey to the camp-site. Lots of space , plenty of long drop toilets . Water taps ( not drinkable ) you feel like you are invading someone's farm land . Worthy of a donation box for sure. ( no phone signal )

30 mins from Tongariro National Park and about 300 years from civilization. No reception β€” just sheep and your thoughts. The drive in is absolutely worth it, despite locals in pick-ups drifting into your lane like extras from True Detective. Flushing toilets. Running water. Shockingly clean facilities. Huge space, several slightly hidden bays β€” walk the whole site before choosing. Possibly camped next to a cult. 10/10. 🚐

Although a bit off the main road, it is worth the drive, the road is tarmac most of the way but single lane and winding in places, winabago managed fine. The place was quiet and peaceful. Lots of flat grass spots, By the river had pit toilets, up the top flushing clean toilets. Big enough area for many to enjoy. No phone or TV reception, take the opportunity to take a walk and get away from the screen. Take your rubbish home.

It was a terrible decision to stay there. Although the place is beautiful and spacious, with bathrooms and water, there was an adult couple who initially asked me to join them, which I declined. I preferred to distance myself as I did not sense good intentions. Then, during the night, they attempted to damage my car. I felt very vulnerable cause I'm travelling alone. Furthermore there is no mobile phone signal. If you go there, be careful if you see an older couple in a closed Sprinter campervan

Nice campsite but when we arrived there was an older couple there who appeared to be doing the deed with all their campervan blinds up in the middle of the day on a Saturday. They then proceeded to shout at us for parking too close to them even though we parked 10m away. Seemed like they may have been there for a while/living there as they had a lot of tables of stuff outside their van.

The quietest place, the road to get there is perfect. Be careful, there is no network on site, but the grounds are large and the toilets clean. The water on site is not potable.

Amazing and beautiful spot. You can park right in front of the stream which is so peaceful. Has toilets and fire pits! Don’t be discouraged by the drive in or lack of phone signal. It’s worth the effort!

It's a great spot, lots of space for people and there's lots of fire pits already there around the place, the river is really cool and a good drive to the campsite

I can't believe this place is free! A beautiful spot next to the river with flushing toilets, forest, BBQs and fire pits. Recommended to us by a friend who stayed here 5 years ago and loved it as much as we did. There was only 1 other vehicle there during our stay. The drive there is beautiful too.
