30min drive on decent gravel road. 2 Flush toilets & sink outside to wash dishes. No phone signal.
Views were unreal- sunset on the mountains was absolutely incredible. Right by the sea walking distance, make sure you book online before coming as some people didn’t and got caught out as there is no signal down there, filled up pretty much completely for the night. Only downside sandflies were one of the most horrendous I’ve seen- had to go inside eventually.
BE WARNED ‼️The sand flys will haunt you, bug spray will not help you. Be prepared to be squashing and scratching all night. (Bring a flame thrower)
You come here for the view on the mountain peaks on the east, and the waves on the west. Toilets are OK, however no drinking water available. Not sure if it's necessary to book in advance... also possible to pay through the registration form and cash in the envelope you put in the iron trunk. Excellent spot!
Incredible place near the ocean
Nice view of the sea and the mountains. Good signal, drop toilet and dish wasing sink. Tons of sandflies
The site was totally full so you should book a spot via DOC. The vans are close to each other. There were a lot of sandflies, I got away in the morning because of them. Only 1 toilet and one tap available which is not a lot for the whole site. Close to the beach with amazing views. Also some tracks starting here. One the site was full, no phone signal anymore. In a more quiet periode I would come back, but it was a bit too busy for me.
Nice campground, small and best suited to campervans. Some spots are reserved for those with online bookings. There is a grassy area for tents but you will not be parked by it. Flush toilets and a sink for dishes. Close to the beach and walking tracks nearby. Good phone signal. Sandflies are bad if it’s not windy.
Great campsite. Nice scenic drive in and sunset. Flush toilets. Fire pit. Full signal but slow internet. However, beware of the flock of noisy and cheeky Kea at dawn and dusk. They will chew your car to bits if you don't scare them off. Don't expect a sleep in.
Fantastic campsite with plenty of space! The toilets are clean and have flushing—always a plus. There’s a dedicated fire pit area, which makes for cozy evenings. And the network coverage is excellent, with a strong connection. Highly recommend
