Really peaceful, whole campground has awesome views of the lake. as you come in the gate there is patches of phone reception out the right or perfect reception if you go to the left. Basic long drop toilets, no running water.
Beautiful secluded camp spot next to the lake. It was just us and one other when we were there. There’s a shelter with benches. Several long drop toilets, could do with a clean but there was paper. No running water currently.
Solo female - i really liked it here it was so scenic and peaceful BUT if the camp was empty (1 other van) im not sure i wouldve felt safe as there are no gates or anything to stop people from coming in. The bathroom situation is completely fine it was clean enough and didnt smell, just bring hand sanitiser as water doesnt run. Phone signal is spotty but it does work. Would recommend for price.
Very nice campsite on the edge of a lake, with lots of spaceLittle light nearby at night so you can see the stars very wellThe toilets behind the shelter are almost full and really don't smell good at allLittle internet network (One NZ and Spark)
Loved this spot. Yes it’s pretty steep to pay because it’s only a drop toilet and people can come and use during the day for free but that’s an issue with DOC. The spot is beautiful and so peaceful, loads of space and good flat spots. If you don’t care about facilities this is a great spot.
We stayed here in March and had a pleasant experience. We came back last night and unfortunately the toilets are now unusable as they've been vandalised. The cubicles are dirty and the toilet seats have been smashed and scattered across the floor. So unless you have a decent squat, I wouldn't bother staying here again. And I certainly wouldn't pay for the campsite either. However the location is still nice and would be fine if you have access to your own toilet.
It’s an amazing spot to camp. It’s pretty abandoned for a paid campsite tho.. Toilet is not very clean.
Lovely view and you’re right on the lake. However, the actual campsite felt abandoned. Toilet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a long time, flies everywhere and very old waste on toilet seat. No soap, no toilet roll, no water. We have a pass, but I would not pay to stay here. It might be better in summer, as we are in off peak season still.
Really great campsite. The toilets on the right of the entry track were very very dirty, but the ones a bit further away on the left were super clean. No water though so make sure you have water supply!!
Very nice campsite. Very calm. We paid online per person. Solar shower and dry toilets. Shelter to eat in case of rain. We had young people who came to have fun with their motorcycles for 15 minutes but that's it.
