We tried to get to this spot in a motohome & turned around after 10mins. Maps told us it was a 40min drive to the spot but was on a sketchy gravel road that we didnt feel safe going any further. Wouldnt recommend for a motorhome

Be careful, the road is not suitable for all vehicles.. there are holes from the entrance to the lake and for 30 minutes, gravel... we did it in a van... I do not recommend it at all, we were afraid of breaking our vehicle. In addition, we arrived at night, and we did not find the campsite.. Was it closed? I do not know, but we had to turn around in the middle of the night... I do not recommend it.

Absolutely stunning campsite which we had the pleasure of having all to ourselves! Very safe but do not arrive at night as it’s very difficult to locate! Google maps will not take you directly there. Also there is a gravel road from the highway which took our campervan an extra half an hour to get down - just keep that in mind! Basic toilet and a small shelter to enjoy your meals. Only for self contained vehicles! Also there is NO SIGNAL AT ALL!! We couldn’t get signal again until the highway!

Has a shelter there, long drop toilet and water tap. We actually put put tent up inside the shelter (no one else around) to keep warm in minus 2 temps. Nice scenery on the way in👍

In the middle of nowhere. Nice spot to see the starts. 10min walk to the lake.

Very beautiful spot. Only a short walk from the lake, this camping ground has fantastic views of the mountains. If you love nature this is perfect!!

Just a paddock, no view of lake. Disappointed after long drive on shingle road. Beautiful high country scenery.

Toilet and water. Really good for a free one.

Good spot if you would to do the peak hill track nearby

Very bad gravel road to a not particularly nice parking lot. (2 hours drive nothing special)
