Great scenery, accessed via a long gravel track and loads of sandflies (we couldn’t leave the van without being bitten). Drop toilet, no water.
I was disappointed when I arrived unfortunately- I planned my first solo van night here and it was super out of the way on a long gravel road- it didn’t provide any camping amenities! Fine if you’re okay with that though. Lots of bees and sandflies and minimal spots to park, very pretty location :)
, a lot of Bees, long drop toilet, empty shelter, few spaces and is not that flat, no signal
It was the worst Free Camp I've ever been to! There are hundreds of Sand Flies, mosquitoes and bumblebees that get into your vehicle if you have the misfortune to open it! I couldn't resist and left at 8:30 p.m. for another free camp which was much better! The view is magnificent but your evening is ruined in less than an hour because of this insect infestation! I really don't recommend it! And no network...
Con: thousands of sandflys! Stay away! Zero cell reception Pro: There is a shelter Pay to stay in another place!!!!
Nice spot surrounded by mountains and very far from main road. Few spots in complete nature. Non flush toilets on campsite. Two negative points: very cold at night and million of sandflies!
The place is beautiful but the sandflies ruin it all. You can’t sit outside for even 5 minutes. And no phone signal.
The amount of sandflies was fucking ridiculous.... Couldn't not stay there for 1 hour. Moved to another campsite.
Amazing view but must say that the sandflies were horrible! You can’t stand outside of the van for a sec means we were enjoying the view from inside our van. Phone signal is not good enough
Stayed here for 2 nights in a motorhome. Reasonable gravel road, need good ground clearance it’s about 6km in. We found a lovely spot a bit further up from the actual campsite as we didn’t need the toilet. My husband visited the loo and said it wasn’t good, blowflies no paper and we are experienced long drop users lol. Such a lovely view, a few cars going up to Mt White Station and hikers doing the track. If you want quiet and views and don’t mind the gravel road this is for you. We loved it.
