This is a very small site and must be booked online in advance. Unfortunately there was a large group a 12 people with 5 vehicles who hadn't booked (or paid) who spoilt it for everyone else. The road in is fine, just don't drive too fast.
Quiet campsite, quite flat. Toilet were usable but not in good condition. Be aware of the road condition as well, quite bad when rain happened. No phone signal
The campsite is easily accessible; the last part of the road is gravel, but no problem. There's plenty of space to set up, picnic tables, and composting toilets, but no sinks or running water. It's very quiet and next to the river for a short walk. There's no phone signal. The location is quite ideal for going on to Kaikoura, where free camping is more restrictive (self-contained with toilets accessible when the bed is open; departure by 7 am at the latest).
Camp easily accessible via gravel road. Road in good conditions. Plenty of space for vehicles and tents, a few picnic tables available. Toilet with toilet paper, no water or rubbish bins. Access to river through a short walk, clean fresh water, not deep enough for swimming. Booking did not work, not able to pay cash, please inform beforehand.
She’s remote! Arrived past midnight and there was plenty of space. Be prepared for a tricky gravel drive up to the site. But once you’re there, its a great spot with flush toilet and gorgeous stream nearby. Flat land to park on too.

No reception
A pleasant spot, but $10 pp for no water, no shower, no kitchen is a bit of a rip off. We've been to plenty of nicer places that were free or cheaper.
- There is no signal for mobile phones - The restrooms are shared by men and women but cannot be locked - There is water on the sign but there is no sink and you have to fetch river water - It says it can park 6 cars but the actual space is very small and crowded
Nice little camp site. It was completely full on 2 Jan and with not a lot of other options nearby latecomers were stuck on the road verge. Otherwise the spot and adjacent river is bush lined and peaceful
