Peaceful location with great view. Outdated facilities. Long gravel road to get here.
We loved our stay here. Very peaceful and secluded. We stayed here for 3 nights, did various walks around and saw the waterfalls. Direct lake access from the campsite. Great facilities. Free showers. Kitchen great. Only thing I would say is it is down a very long gravel road to get to the campsite so may struggle in bigger vehicles. No signal but free wifi that only works outside the reception/shop. Worth it though!!
The location is amazing next to the lake and surrounded by forest only reachable by long gravel roads. The receptionist was very pleasant, helpful and kind. The kitchen was big and clean on the countertops. The main toilets and showers were clean. As there were not many people we could choose our site freely. We did two stunning day hikes from there. There is no reception, but WiFi at the main entrance.
- unfriendly stuff - you have to pay 5$ pp extra for the facilities - a lot of uneven sides + really nice located next to the lake + good and big facilities (big kitchen) + 2$ for laundry
Lovely site! Wonderfully clean bathrooms and spacious showers with ample hot water. Kitchen was spacious and had OVENS ?????? The lake is beautiful even when it’s pouring rain and the mist in the valley is stunning. Highly recommend!
Excellent campsite. Clean toilets, showers and a generous kitchen. It seems as if the lake, walks and freedom camping spots are all closed at the moment. We enjoyed a few days on the lake, doing bombs and manus with some random kids in the lake. The shop/reception is on limited hours -closing at 3pm. Very quiet. But we will definitely come back here!
A great campsite, which is very secluded. There is no signal (at least none with 2degrees) and WLAN is not provided either. If you want some peace and quiet, this park is perfect for it. The approach is via a long gravel road (approx. 15 to 20 km long), which is easy to drive on as long as you don't drive too fast. The campsite is right on the lake and has a swimming area. On the whole, the park is highly recommended. The facility offers everything that is needed. In addition, there are a few hiking trails within walking distance of this park if you allow a little more time.
Nice and tidy campsite, lots of toilet/shower facilities which is great. Will definitely go back if I could!
Great spot. Awesome swimming and hot showers. Tonnes of amenities, washing machine, kitchen etc. Well worth the money and clean and tidy facilities.
No longer DOC run and showing its age, little bits of maintenance need doing etc. Lovely place to visit but most camper/motorhome sites not flat and can get very soggy in the wet, some unusable in the wet.
