It has 24/7 bathrooms and showers. At night there's a car with some strange people smoking weed and arguing amongst themselves; the town in general has some odd people. But there are plenty of campervans, so it's not a problem. Don't worry too much about it. There are about 20 campsites, and it's nice and has everything you need.
Awesome place to stop in when you need a pitstop. Toilets & premises were clean. Just make sure you get a spot before they are all taken.
There are 24/7 bathrooms with hot showers although one of them had a broken lock so unavailable and they weren't that clean. Also pay right before you shower because the clock starts right when you pay and not when you turn on the water but that just didn't clock to me. The all round vibe of the town was a bit sketchy although nothing happened to us apart from loud people with music at night just parking close to us screaming and stuff. Fine for one night, we stayed two.
The only positive point: lots of seats on the freecamp. Freecamp to avoid! In the evening a strange man dragged around the vehicles. Around 1am, a car parked next to us and the 2 men inside insulted each other by screaming. Later, others came to tap the windows of a vehicle and then put the music very loud and sang for more than an hour. Not to mention the light bulbs that make a lot of light in the vans. The toilets are closed at night...
The only positive point is the shower accessible 24/7 for $4 every 6 min of hot water. Otherwise we witnessed a fight and the city and the surroundings are not at all safe.
A fairly quiet place overall, with plenty of space for campers. We recharge our batteries at the bookstore without any problem. Hot shower + toilet. Not the cleanest, but very practical.
A very good place with everything you need including a warm shower for $4 which is really not bad!!!
10/10 - amazing freedom campsite!!! Enough space for a lot of cars Facilities 10/10 The free cold showers were super clean and the water pressure just great! Also fair price for a hot shower ($4 for 6 minutes) Free WiFi and charging options at the library !! Location 10/10 Close to shops & bakery’s and bay of islands The best freedom campsite I’ve ever stayed at!
Large parking, lots of places. Two toilets with shower 24/7 on. Hot shower costs $4 for 6 minutes (shower time starts immediately after payment) More toilets are open during the day. Some non-camper cars also park here overnight, so even late at night there is still something off.
Nice place to stay. Multiple toilets and showers (cold or pay $4 for hot). We stayed here for two nights. The public toilets were locked on our first night, with people already waiting for the shower/toilet so we had to walk 600m to nearby toilets in a field (rather sketchy walk). Nice stream running along the back of the car park with multiple paths behind for walks, would recommend. Could also connect to WiFi at library (12 hours)
