No sandflies which was a relief, but had mosquitoes. Was quiet and well maintained for a DOC camp. You can go gold panning up the river, and is pretty easily accessible. Not a lot of people the night we were there, but some google reviews say it can fill up when busy. Toilets clean and flushable. No phone signal at all, so keep in mind if trying to book online or if you want to use internet.
Nice smaller campsite, no clearly marked spots- so depends on how busy it is as to how many people will fit. No phone signal at all, but a few nice walks around. Road noise is loud, but only when a rare car drives past! Lots of shady spots to park up, and variation of gravel and grass. Toilets were clean and flushed, two sinks for handwashing and two for dishes provided. No rubbish or recycling bins, but for $10 a night it was a really lovely campsite. Was super quiet when we were there!
gorgeous campsite, clean flushing toilets. very peaceful. close to some interesting walking paths and info boards! thoroughly enjoyed the spot for such a cheap price :) no signal tho!
Nice DOC space with flush clean toilets. No signal at all. Not too many sandflies. Very peaceful.
Really good campsite! Clean flushing toilets and lovely spots separated by treues.
Very nice camp with plenty of good flat and separated areas. If you’re tenting, nice grass but rocky under for pegs. Others have left plenty of river boulders around the areas so use them through guy ropes and enjoy. Great walks, good mining history and river on your doorstep.
Beautiful spot.
A magic little spot by the creek, worth the 15 minute wander off the main road. Just lovely
Brilliant spot. Some lovely secluded nooks. Weka (small flightless birds) very friendly. Flush toilets. Outdoor wash basins. Lots of bins. All very clean. River close by. Do recommend the 20min Tunnel Walk down the road, an absolute fairyland.
Such a sweet, beautiful spot! Lush greenery all around with lots of wildlife to watch and explore. Very affordable. Loved it!
