Fab campsite. Amazing location for the Mountain View’s and hikes. Flush toilets and drinking water available. Add reg when booking online or let the information centre know once you arrive. Showers available in the town nearby (paid by the minute). Would go back!

Beautiful views of the mountains and most of the hikes are accessible by this campsite which we loved. Clean toilets and drinkable water. I would recommend booking in advance because we went beginning of October and the site was pretty packed. You can also checkout as late as noon which was nice if you plan to hike in the morning.

You go there for the views! We're not disappointed. Did two hikes. Both incredible hooker Valley should not miss! Camp one night. Bathrooms questionable. I would hate to be there at high season because it was a zoo now. We didn't go on our hooker Valley hike until 4 o'clock crowds stand out dramatically and the sun played such a dramatic role on how we viewed the Valley quite beautiful. They need to charge an entry fee. It's ridiculous. They asked for donations when they could get even just $10

Toilets etc were closed for winter, but we were fine and there are plenty over on the township. Great spot, unreal views, right on Hooker Track, good bin facilities, and lots of space. Super easy and highly recommend if keen to hit the hikes in the morning!

Quite busy, but a lot of spaces. Expect to be close to another camper though. The toilets on the campground were still closed for winter last night. According to DOC website they should open October 1st. Would have been nice if they were open since it was quite busy and the non campsite guests also use the main toilets. They were quite dirty and had long queues. Worth a stay though, beautiful place to stay

Plenty of space in the off season! Beautiful view. The toilets were still nasty though so we just used the one in our van. It’s a great spot but can be very windy. We had booked for 2 nights but a storm hit and we were getting smashed with the van rocking side to side all night, then still raining all morning, so we left early. No refunds for leaving early as far as I can tell. Missed out on the hike we wanted to do unfortunately! Will have to come back another time.

Best DOC campsite. $20 per adult per night well worth it. The hut (BYO cooking equipment) has running treated water and flushing toilets. Spacious in winter but I can see it getting busy in summer. Easy access to hiking trails. Snowed overnight when we stayed and we woke up to winter wonderland. By the time we returned from our hike the road was ploughed and gritted. The views of the surrounding mountains were unreal.

Absolutely stunning spot at the foot of the mountain. We were lucky to have clear sunny days. Be sure to fill your van with water before you arrive because nowhere to fill up on site or even in mt cook town nearby. One drop toilet sufficed. Camp was quiet and serene.

Wow, what a beautiful campground. You don’t get much amenity-wise but the view and choice of hikes/tracks is just amazing and well worth the money. At least four tracks with ranging difficulties and even a track to the village which was fun. However don’t get caught out in the village with no car after dark - it’s a bit scary using the track to get back! Clean toilets. - Nishy and Nicky

We paid the $40 for the one night for 2 people. We did the mueller hut hike in just under 5h return, it was breathtaking. Definitely recommend it, if had planned better would have gone to spend the night in the red hut (mueller hut).
