Great freecamp! There is a little parking next to the toilets but a local woman said to us we can park inside the picnic area. So don't hesitate to open the large wood gate and camp inside the picnic area! We saw (and heard) a lot of weka (do not confuse with kiwis 🤣).
Good network, great toilets, and excellent connections to the school next door.
Kiwi country!! You can hear their calls in the night and if you’re lucky like we were, a few curious kiwis will come over to say hello! Toilets in decent shape, extremely quiet but really lovely as it’s the middle of nowhere. Waterfall just a short distance away, too.
Toilets out of order
Stayed here last week. Very quiet. Decent loos and a shelter with bench. Good spot by river with lots of weka. Best parking inside the fenced area. Enjoyed it.
Boris the boat is sadly not here today! But beautiful quiet rural spot with mountains, clean toilets and picnic table under shelter.
Such a friendly town, true kiwi experience, don’t be surprised if a local invites you for a beer. If you love quiet isolated spots and birds this spot is for you. Make sure to say hi to Boris the pig next to the community hall.
Very nice camping spot. We stayed one night and were the only ones. Good clean flush toilets, with running water. No Boris to be seen, but if you are looking for a quiet stop with beautiful views, this is it
Flushing toilets, nice spot. Everyone passing by gave us a friendly wave.:)
Cute spot in a lovely green farming community. Flushing clean toliets with lights! Boris the boar loves snacks and scraps and all the cows along the road are very curious. Cafe is also a good visit with awesome town history and good muffins
