Wonderful calm place, on grass sites. Clean toilets & a sink to wash dishes, a super plus ;))) Light on till around 22h. Thanks to Wairoa / Mahia for welcoming us, travellers. This morning, 20th oct there was a weird "maori" looking guy (rusty dark green or blue car) singing out loud with speakers. I saw him yesterday, also, at Morere hot springs. He recognized me, came to my van to say hello and tell he is staying there overnight. He seems to be a good boy, but who knows ... It made me take the decision to leave. * As a female solo traveller i need to be aware of everything. Just informing.

Very lovely area. Clean toilets. There is a sink behind them where you can wash dishes. A bin to dump your trash too. Grass on the parking spots, but well maintained. Feels very safe and peaceful. Loved it!

Nice spot, plenty of space but only issue is that the parking area is on grass and on rainy days you might be stuck if with heavy vehicles. We have a Toyota Hiace and decided to not stay. Didn't check toilets but the area seems to be well serviced.

Clean toilets, space to wash his dishes. access to the beach. garbage. This is a good free camp, quiet. We spent two nights there, and we were the only ones on the spot.

Perfect spot. Room for about 10 motorhomes. Easy to reach with a paved road. Nice views of the ocean and surrounding hills. Bit windy when we were there. New toilet building with 2 very clean flush toilets. Even a watertap outide (not potable) and a trashcan. Good phone signal. Would recommend staying here.

Designed camping area,stay one night with my NSC,have checked on the website said open for SC and NSC for max 3nights. There are 2 clean flush toilet.

Excellent spot, stay over Christmas, great for fishing, swimming, walking and relaxing. Toilets clean and well serviced and bins emptied daily even on the public holidays.

Parking in a good location, clean toilet and sink. No shower or facilities for filling water containers.

Suitable for tents but not self-contained.
