Really nice spot! Was quiet when we went, and the flushing toilets/showers were out of order due to pipe issues- but the drop toilets were an alternative. Beautiful bay to swim in, gorgeous clear water! Was worried about some reviews of theft, but we were fine. However did get rocks thrown at the van from some school kids as we were driving through town to get here- which is a shame.
Loved this campsite, some reviews made me a bit worried but I needn’t have been. It was a long weekend so very busy, we felt there was enough space between pitches & amenities weren’t overwhelmed. No mozzies for us, we used a head torch for night runs to loo. Cold showers were private & fine after first gasp, long drop loos - just don’t look, not smelly and plenty of loo roll. Beaches superb & starry skies. Staff helpful 😍
What a gem. This is a really huge campground, we stayed a couple of nights at the bottom camp, the sites are really big, the bay is wonderful, there is everything you need. Toilets, (cold) showers, we drunk the tap water over few days and didn't get sick. The stargazing there is amazing. And a big point is the recycling station at the office, really all the campgrounds should take exemple on this one ! The only annoying part are the mosquitoes, be prepared.
Amazing camping spot right by 2 beautiful beaches. Stayed there over nye and all the staff working there were lovely and they were well organised. Great facilities, clean and well maintained. You can leave your recycling there . And they can take your rubbish for a small fee.
If there was an option between average and good I would select that. The beach was nice to walk around but the actual campsite itself was just OK with not much to look at given it's proximity to a nice bay, but was decent enough for a night. Cold shower and toilets were decent enough. The women's toilet had a sign saying said it had waste and recycling but we couldn't find anything. Office closes early then it's cash.
- park places have no direct see to ocean except day parking - no internet + wonderful bay and so isolated
$15 per person. Gorgeous beach, with multiple access points. Several water points with a hose, great for washing dishes or rinsing your feet. A beautiful 1.5-hour hike accessible from the highest point of the campsite. Cold indoor shower. Toilets in complete darkness, not practical in the evening/night and no hand soap.
We liked the top campsite, though beware the muddy areas - and close up at dusk for mozzies. No fishing still - happy to respect traditional owners' management here. Sea is still warm enough for swimming - it was overcast and windy when we were here. No phone signal.
Nice campsite, plenty of room, however the Toilets were infected by flys, large swarms in and outside the area.
I am a solo female in my 20s travelling in my van and I had no weird vibes of this place And I stayed in the top campsite, as was recommended by the woman at the office Really lovely spot, with local couples and travellers. Felt really safe. Gorgeous views and beach and trail
