Go to Tapotupotu beach, freedom camping and toilets. Says it’s paid but all signs seem to have been taken down
It will take a long walk to get to the campsite, the landscapes crossed are beautiful and varied, the ride is worth it and the view of the campsite too, if the coefficients are not too great the crossing of the beach is very good that the tide either high or low Dry toilets, rainwater and a shelter with table and bench Return to the car park by making the loop, it is magnificent
Only accessible 3h either side of low tide!
Favorite campsite so far!! This tag is at the start of the trail- it took us about 1.5 hours through well marked pasture land, wetlands (bridges) and sand dunes to get to the sign for the campsite on the beach. Once you get here, take a left (heading south) and walk on the beach to the very end - there will be wooden stairs to your left that lead up to a well maintained flat grassy campground with a gazebo, very clean bathroom and tap water from rain collection. So peaceful!!!
Wrong location on map, update needed
