Don't understand the negative reviews. One of our favorite DOC spots. Feels very remote, no reception, but 2 toilets (decent enough) and running water. Nice hikes starting there :) 100% recommend. Need to book ahead

11km easy and nice dirt road, 2x toilets, water( boil for drinking), nice flat ground, picknic tables, planty of space for cars and tents, no phone service

Calm and remote place with good space but you have to drive 11km of gravel road to get there, very smelly toilet, no drinking water, not worth it.

I didn't stay for a night but visited as a day visitor for the trails nearby. I must say it's one of the most beautiful campsites I've seen. There is no reception but the place is really quite, spacious and flat. Beautiful forest right next to it and clean toilets. I am sure that a night sky on a clear day is out of this world.

Got a really strange vibe from this place. Lots of cars but barely any people, you drive through another campsite with a fair amount of permanent campers on the way through. And a very long, thin, twisty dirt road on the way down. You pay a lot of money for not much to be honest.

Lovely small campsite up a long, narrow, twisty dirt road. Go slow and enjoy the views! We enjoyed all the hikes that connect with the campsite. There is water spigots (definitely boil/filter it!) and two drop toilets. Loved going to sleep with the sound of moreporks calling :)

Lovely Campsite with basic facilities like toilet and water. The stars shine bright when dark and it's always peacefully quiet. At night it can get quite cold though. The Wekas running about are very bold, they even climbed into our car on multiple occasions to steal food, so be sure to keep your doors closed. Altogether a very nice place to stay. Though the gravel road dusted up our car real good on the way there and back.

Nice spot - close to some trails in the wood. The gravel road is not that bad. We have 2WD Toyota Avensis.
