Brilliant campsite, secluded and surrounded with bush. Be aware though - BIG hole that you will get stuck in if you try to turn around near the end of the site. You will also struggle to get there if in 2WD and there is any moisture on the road. Very little ability to turn around. Not suited to big campers or motorhomes.
Not found. Do not go when it's raining, it's very dangerous. Especially when you have a van.
The loveliest campsite I have been to in NZ all year. A peaceful forest with a little stream. You can make a fire. Toilets available. A few sandflies but that’s nothing new to NZ, just bring your bushman with ya ;) I highly recommend it, you cannot be disappointed.
We stayed here for 3 nights in middle of January and I loved this place. This campsite is for you, if you want to be alone with nature. It is deep inside the forest which looks like the one in LOTR. No other people even on January. There is a little stream, dry toilet (fine) and fireplace. Not much sun. You must TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU!
Not really worth driving that far. Long, not scenic gravel road. Place is in middle of the forest, very cold stream near by, dry toilet. Clean enough in general.
