The road is not good, but ok without 4x. No toilets. Even with the rain, it's easy to find a place without mud. No problem to leave the next day.
Not many places and hard to tell which 4 are meant as a camping place and which just to park. Was parked by hunters anyway so went forward to the next one where there is enough space. The road is not that bad!
Not a great spot on a rainy day. Everything is muddy and you almost sink in
No signposted from DOC. Therefore we were not sure if we found the camping ground or not. There are some small places in the forrest with a toilet and a fire pit. We think this should be the camping grounds. It's quiet and a little bit scary in the night. If you want to be isolated it is the perfect place for you.
Didn't find the place. There was a sign posting the walk, but no campsite. And I was driving for easy more then only 4 km (when gravel road starts). I was alone and it was getting dark, so pretty creepy and turned around back to Taupo.
Checked it out but didnt camp overnight as I was alone and had no phone reception there. Would be great with other people. One toilet, one picnic table, good space for 4 cars & tents with other sites not too far.
Really quiet and remote place. Gravel road in good condition but narrow in places. Long drop toilet, no water, picnic table and 2 fire pits.
Lovely spot deep in the forest. Thankfully there was another car there so wasn't too Blair witch. Toilet and picnic table are there, the ground was a bit muddy so maybe avoid after heavy rain. No phone signal.
Beautiful silence place!
Campground in the middle of nowhere. There is just one toilet, nothing else. When we were there there were some hunters - no tourists. The sites along the street are not or only badly signposted.
