Clean and tidy site, was freshly mowed. Only people there. Public toilets available and dump station on site. Donation required for permit so not free but really cheap.

Posted details say there’s no charge for a permit, but I had to pay $18 (2people,1night). Nice spot though, worth it

There is a sign indicating that the area is closed and therefore camping is prohibited, which is a shame because the area is nice. There is no real choice for sleeping because even the paid campsites are closed in winter. We had to pay for a room to sleep, we went to the tolaga bay innovation

Big grassy area, very calm with toilet. Just couple locals are driving around but still nice camping spot by the beach with lovely sunrise.

I have never felt so much peace as in this place. The bathrooms are not very clean, and there is a cold water shower available in the open air.

Awesome free camping. No drinkable water in the town unless it’s boiled but close to Cook’s Cove and there’s a cold outdoors beach shower.

Bathrooms locked and other camp bathroom building is gone. Grass would be wet and boggy after rain. Beach is nice although construction down the end.

Nice walk! Bit muddy, even after some sunny days, but doable. Some stairs, but not too exhausting

Excellent spot to stay! A hop, skip and a jump the beautiful beach! Has toilets but no potable water. I really enjoyed this area though, it’s a beautiful place to see and stay! Would recommend.

Great spot! A lot of space and even ground. The toilets right by the camp are closed, but the ones at the beach are open. The cold beach showers are great :)
