Quiet and tranquil, usually quite empty. Lots of sandflies, but not the worst in the area and toilets made me throw up. Gravel road for a few kilometres so be careful when driving. Expensive for what it is.

Beautiful views and solid gravel road to the camp site. Basic facilities but enough. There is reception and you’re so close to the Routeburn track start so it was perfect for me :)

nice campsite on a lake in beautiful surroundings between the mountains. Close to the start of the hikes tracks. Toilets not very clean, but for quick needs just doable.

Great campsite next to the river. Large sites and clean drop toilets. And the views are amazing! 1 bar of phone reception. The gravel road (5km) is in reasonable condition: it is wide enough (even for large campervans), however the road is a bit of a bumpy ride! Cannot go faster than 20kmh with a campervan

One of the most beautiful spots to camp in NZ. Bookings mainly taken online. Long gravel road to get to which can be quite boring and hard going but not too bad in the long run. But this place is so peaceful - no phone signal, immersed in nature and right next to the Routeburn River. Wish I'd stayed more than 1 night!

Very nice place near a river and to the start of the routeburn track. The sites are spacious and surrounded by trees. The longdrop toilets were clean. There were a few sandflies but it was also very windy when we were there.

Really gorgeous campground but the sandflies were insane!! Ended up leaving early so we could cook in peace

really cute little campsite! lovely views. quite a long gravel road to access but it wasn’t a problem for us. clean drop toilets with toilet paper and hand sanitiser available. would recommend if you’re doing hikes in the area/exploring glenorchy but it’s 1hr45 from queenstown which we found a little taxing, lots of good (but pricey) campsites in queenstown village if you’re planning to hang out in town for a few days

Excellent secluded campsite by the riverside. No phone reception, so make your bookings before arriving. Sadly the walks starting at the campsite were closed due to no bridge when we were there...

Stayed here for one night and it was beautiful! There’s loads to explore around the site and plenty of spaces to park. I’d still recommend booking online ahead of time though. There are untreated water pumps and drop toilets. Only a 10 minute drive from the Routeburn Track Trailhead. Gorgeous views! Quite a few sandflies.
