We stayed here a couple of nights before/after hikes in the area such as the Pinnacles. It was very quiet and has views on the Table Mountain, toilets, a river where you can refresh and a grassy area to relax after a long hike. Only 0-2 other campers in the period we stayed. Downside is that from dusk on there are a lot of mosquitoes (no bites though). No signal. Would definitely come back here.
Stayed here one night last night, as did one other in a tent. Fee per adult, per night, or free with the DOC Camp Pass. Plenty of space for larger campers. No Vodafone signal, has TV signal though. Something the info centre didn't tell us, vehicles over 6tonne cannot get to any of the campsites, FYI. Couple of drop loos here. This campsite is beautifully quiet at night and not too far from the river. DOC came round in the morning checking people understand Kauri DieBack. Find us on Insta if you're touring @saltyskin or at our blog www. Saltyskin. Blog 8-)
Well kept campsite. Clean and tidy long drop toilet. Short walk to the river. Places to tuck away your tent and have some peace and quiet.
They’re all good. Some quite noisy neighbours. Many mosquitoes and sandflies. Toilet was dirty.
Lots of mosquito 's !
Nice and flat campground close to the river and lots of walks around. A must stay for nature lover.
Flat grounds. Nice clean toilet. Plenty of sunlight. Gets quite busy on public holidays. Short walk to small waterwalk. Plenty of birds around. -Wanderers
