Lovely spot but? We were staying there last night, but moved on to Thames freedom camping spot due to very bad behaviour around the place and we didn’t feel safe. We were the only ones there and around 8.30 cars started arriving, lots of yelling, smashing bottles etc. It was Saturday night and I am guessing young ones were having fun, but we didn’t feel safe.
In an 8m RV. Very happy with our first visit here and we will be back for sure. User friendly, happy, safe environment
Lovely spot. Very easy to book online then on arrival pick up gate pass and keys from visitors centre. Easily access to site , firm and level for motorhome. Many close walking tracks.
Great spot. With raised firm sites. Locked gate and locked power boxes. Read info at bottom of Doc site to be sure you get access outside office hours.
Shag stream still closed. Had to phone to get gate code to get in so don't turn up late on spec. Looks nice though. Pity just an overnighter.
Had the pick of the DoC powered spaces. What a beautiful spot. Nothing but the sound of birds and wind in the trees. Drove 9km past visitor centre on metal road to the end, and did walks to Billy Goat Landing (20mins) and Edwards Lookout (45mins return). Hot day and both easy walks in lovely bush. Highly recommended
Very nice place, even with electricity. You can use the toilets at the visitor center and fresh water is also available there.
Very nice site, problem with the power cons, not available on ts locations.
Great clean level high and dry powered sites close to toilets and doc office
Just a powered site unfortunately all the walking were closed due to recent cyclones.
