$15 per person isn't much. There were so many sandflies that you couldn't sit outside. Out of desperation, we drove on to another location. This location isn't recommended if you can't sit inside the bus. There are no showers. The toilet is a 10-minute walk through the woods. This path isn't lit.
Beautiful views of the lake, lots of sandflies, and we hardly left the campervan. Arrive before the visitor center closes to make a reservation, or book online through the DOC website. They check that you have reservations. The kitchen electricity wasn't working, but the powered site electricity was.
Best lake spot I’ve ever stayed at full stop. No sand flies or mossies or any bugs (whitch is pretty strange especially judging by the previous comments, guess DOC must have gotten a handle on it by now). The water is prefect for kyaking and did that all day until my dog almost drowned 🙊😬😅😂 it happens
The spot is great but it’s impossible to stay because of the sandflies ! You can’t take a shower or stay outside without having 100 of them all on your body
A lot less busy than the other lakeside sites around here. Only $10 per person. As mentioned, be aware of the sandflies!
Should've known due to location but stepped out of the van and swarmed with sandflies within seconds. Didn't stay.
Small spot as described on grass, one can got stuck and needed to be towed with locals help. We ended up parking on the gravel because it rained and we didn’t want to have the same problem. SO many sandflies though, we barely left the van.. too bad because it’s a beautiful area (can recommend the nature walk though!). Flush Toilets and sink good!
24/01/2024 Great place 100m from the lake pier, get armed and dangerous for the sandflies as they're everywhere, our guard did a good job though. flushing toilets (no brush?) and cold water sink. peaceful spot right across from residential properties so make sure to keep the noise to a minimum.
A crazy amount of sandflies. You open your car door ones real quick and there are at least 10 sandflies in your car. Also the toilet is out of order. Otherwise a beautiful location near the lake…
Nice as a passthrough campsite but because of the large amount of sandflies you only want to be in your tent or van. A swim in the Lake after a long ride was wonderful.
